Pretty in Pink

I have always loved makeup. It’s a way to express myself and my creativity instead of a way to cover up my insecurities. When it comes to makeup, THE EYES HAVE IT. Whether they’re dramatic or muted, they are the first thing that people notice. My weekends always consist of spending time with friends and one of our favorite past times includes applying makeup. Here are some tips to achieve the perfect look.

My friend asked me to do her makeup for a party and we were planning on experimenting with silver, but then we decided to try something more fun and went with pink and I’m so happy we did! I really loved how this turned out and I hope you do too!

I did this look using 2 palettes, a bronzer, liquid gel eyeliner, and mascara: Kylie Cosmetics You’re So Money Baby palette, the KKW Beauty X Mario palette, Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer, Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner, and Mac Cosmetics Extended Play Gigablack Lash Mascara.

Step 1: Fill in your eyebrow with a neutral brown color or brow pencil using soft hairlike strokes to mimic real brow hairs.

Step 2: Use a small amount of concealer or a light eyeshadow primer and tap it lightly onto your eyelid until it is blended evenly all over. For the concealer I love the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer and for a great eyeshadow primer I love the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Original.

Step 3: On a large blending brush (something similar to the Morphe M441 blending brush) take a small amount of the Too Faced bronzer and softly blend it through your crease using windshield wiper motions. Then, once you barely have any product left of the brush, sweep the brush over your entire lid. This will not only set the concealer we applied before, but it will create a neutral transition shade for the brighter colors to come!

Step 4: Next, using a tapered blending brush similar to the Morphe M433 blending brush, take the matte ballet pink shade called “Work For It” in the Kylie Cosmetics You’re So Money Baby palette. From there, place this shade in your crease using the same windshield wiper motions as before, but this time focus this color in your crease only.

Step 5: Then, continuing to use the Kylie Cosmetics You’re So Money Baby palette, pick up the matte warm rosie pink shade called “On a Budget” with the same blending brush. Use this color to deepen the crease further by placing it right on top of the previous shade “Work For It.”

Step 6: From there take the matte magenta pink color in the same palette on a clean tapered blending brush, still similar to the Morphe M433. Now, instead of concentrating this shade in the crease, begin to tap it on the outer corner of your eye. After tapping most of the product on, in order to avoid patchiness, start to blend the color out upwards, towards the end of your eyebrow, to create a cateye effect. Once you have barely anything left on your brush, you can lightly sweep the brush over your crease to create a seamless blend.

Step 7: Now use a flat concealer brush (similar to the Morphe E57) to pick up the shade “2008” in the KKW Beauty X Mario palette. Tap this color on the inner corner of the eye, near the tear duct, and on the inner portion of the lid to open up the eyes.

Step 8: Back in the Kylie Cosmetics You’re So Money Baby palette, take the pink glittery shades “Twenty-Two” and “Goal Setter” on a clean, flat concealer brush (similar to the Morphe E57). Place these colors on the center of your lid to connect the silver on the inside to the matte pink on the outside.

Step 9: One of the last steps is to take a precise and angled eyeliner brush (like the Morphe E11) and use the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner. Slowly drag or paint a thin black line across your upper lash line to create a bold background for your eyelashes.

Step 10: Then, after curling your lashes, apply a coat of black mascara to your top and bottom lashes. For this look I used the Mac Cosmetics Extended Play Gigablack Lash Mascara because the small wand ensures no clumping.

Step 11: Finally, gently spray your face with setting spray so your look lasts all day!(I love the Morphe Prep and Set Continuous Setting Mist).
