Pink & Gold

I have always loved makeup. It’s a way to express myself and my creativity instead of a way to cover up my insecurities. When it comes to makeup, THE EYES HAVE IT. Whether they’re dramatic or muted, they are the first thing that people notice. My weekends always consist of spending time with friends and one of our favorite past times includes applying makeup. Here are some tips to achieve the perfect look.

I did this look on my friend using the Kylie Cosmetics Sipping Pretty eyeshadow palette, The Anastasia Brow Wiz in the shade “soft brown” to fill in my brows and then applied the Diorshow Mascara in the color black to emphasize my eyelashes. I have never used this shade of pink before and I was really excited to experiment with it. The steps are really fast and simple and I’m really proud of how it turned out and would definitely do this look again!

Step 1: Fill in your eyebrow with a neutral brown color or brow pencil using soft hairlike strokes to mimic real brow hairs.

Step 2: Use a small amount of concealer or a light eyeshadow primer and tap it lightly onto your eyelid until it is blended evenly all over. For the concealer I love the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer and for a great eyeshadow primer I love the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Original.

Step 3: Using a large buffing brush (something similar to the Morphe M441 blending brush) to blend the shade “Check ID,” from the top row in the palette, into your crease using tapping motions at first to lay down the color and avoid patchiness. Then, use small circular and windshield wiper motions, with a light hand, to seamlessly blend out the color through the crease and onto the lid.

Step 4 (Optional): in order to create a cat-eye affect when blending, flick the brush up using a short motion at the outer corner.)

Step 5: Next, using your ring finger (because it is the most delicate) pick up the shimmery pink shade called “21+” left of the shade you just used. Then, lightly tap the color onto the center of your lid only to create a halo 3-D effect.

Step 6: On a small detail brush(similar to the Morphe M210) use the shade “Martini Mama” on the left side of the top row of the palette. Place the color in your inner corner to open up the eyes and on the brow bone (right under your eyebrow arch) to add dimension.

Step 7: Now apply a straight, thin line of a dark brown liner (I love The Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner in the shade “Earthquake”). Using a dark brown liner will darken the look, but not as dark as a black liner would.

Step 8: After curling your lashes, apply a coat of black mascara to your top and bottom lashes (I recommend the Diorshow Mascara in Black).

Step 9: Finally, gently spray your face with setting spray so your look lasts all day!(I love the Morphe Prep and Set Continuous Setting Mist).
