I have always loved makeup. It’s a way to express myself and my creativity instead of a way to cover up my insecurities. When it comes to makeup, THE EYES HAVE IT. Whether they’re dramatic or muted, they are the first thing that people notice. My weekends always consist of spending time with friends and one of our favorite past times includes applying makeup. Here are some tips to achieve the perfect look.
I’ve never been a huge orange person, but it is a standout color in the palette so I thought I’d experiment on myself. For this look, I used the Kylie Cosmetics Summer Palette on my eyes, The Anastasia Brow Wiz in the shade “soft brown” to fill in my brows and then applied the Diorshow Mascara in the color black to emphasize my eyelashes.
Step 1: Fill in your eyebrow with a neutral brown color or brow pencil using soft hairlike strokes to mimic real brow hairs.
Step 2: Use a small amount of concealer or a light eyeshadow primer and tap it lightly onto your eyelid until it is blended evenly all over. For the concealer I love the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer and for a great eyeshadow primer I love the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Original.
Step 3: Using a large buffing brush (something similar to the Morphe M441 blending brush) lightly dust the creamy shade “Pool Day” in the very bottom left of the palette all over your lid to set the primer and create a light transition shade for the bright colors to come.
Step 4: Next, take the bright orange shade “Melon,” which is the second color from the left in the top row of the palette and on a tapered blending brush (something like the Morphe M433 blending brush), lightly buff the color into the crease of your eye using windshield wiper motions. Once there is barely any color left on the brush, use the remaining color on the rest of the lid.
Step 5: Then, using your ring finger (because it is the most delicate) pick up a little bit of the bright, sparkly color “Juicy,” which is the color second from the right in the top row of the palette, and gently tap the color in the center of the lid to create a 3D effect and accentuate the middle of the lid.
Step 6 (optional): Take the gold sparkly color third from the right in the top row of the palette labeled “Summer” on a CLEAN finger and tap right over the sparkly orange shade you just applied to the center of the lid to add even MORE emphasis.
Step 7: On a small detail brush (similar to the Morphe M210) use the shade in the far right corner called “Beach Babe” and place it directly in the inner corner of your eye in order to open up the eyes.
Step 8: After curling your lashes, apply a coat of black mascara (I recommend the Diorshow Mascara in Black).
Step 9: Gently spray your face with setting spray so your look lasts all day! (I love the Morphe Prep and Set Continuous Setting Mist).
