Green-Eyed Girl

I have always loved makeup. It’s a way to express myself and my creativity instead of a way to cover up my insecurities. When it comes to makeup, THE EYES HAVE IT. Whether they’re dramatic or muted, they are the first thing that people notice. My weekends always consist of spending time with friends and one of our favorite past times includes applying makeup. Here are some tips to achieve the perfect look.

This look was one of the first times I ever used a bold color! I chose green to bring out the green tint in my eyes. On my eyes I used the Jaclyn Hill Palette from Morphe, The Anastasia Brow Wiz in the shade “soft brown” to fill in my brows and then applied the Diorshow Mascara in the color black to emphasize my eyelashes.

Step 1: Fill in your eyebrow with a neutral brown color or brow pencil using soft hairlike strokes to mimic real brow hairs.

Step 2: Use a small amount of concealer or a light eyeshadow primer and tap it lightly onto your eyelid until it is blended evenly all over. For the concealer I love the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer and for a great eyeshadow primer I love the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Original.

Step 3: Using a large buffing brush (something similar to the Morphe M441 blending brush) lightly dust the matte shade “Silk Crème,” which is the 3rd color in the top row of the palette in your crease using windshield wiper motions. Once you have barely any color left on your brush, sweep the remaining color all over your lid.

Step 4: Next, take the matte forest green shade “Enchanted,” which is in the middle of the bottom row of the palette, on a tapered blending brush (something like the Morphe M433 blending brush), lightly buff the color into the crease of your eye using windshield wiper motions, from inner to outer corner of your eye. (Optional: in order to create a cat-eye affect when blending, flick the brush up using a short motion at the outer corner.)

Step 5: After blending “Enchanted” out in your crease, take the same blending brush and pick up more of the color and use tapping motions to apply it onto the outer corner of your eye. After tapping most of the color onto your eye and not much is left on the brush, begin to blend out the color to make the edges look smooth.

Step 6: Then, using your ring finger (because it is the most delicate) pick up the shimmery, emerald shade “Diva,” which is directly left of the previous shade “Enchanted” in the bottom row of the palette. Gently tap the color on your lid starting at the inner corner and gently keep taping until around the middle of your eyelid. (Optional: to make the glitter shade “Diva” pop more, either spray your setting spray on a flat paddle brush, the Mac Prep + Prime Fix+ Spray in Original is great for this, with the color on the brush. Or, apply a light coat of concealer, I love the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, only where your want to apply the shimmer before using your ring finger to actually apply the shade.)

Step 7: On a small detail brush (similar to the Morphe M210) use the shade “Enlight” in the far left corner of the top row of the palette and place it directly in the inner corner of your eye in order to open up the eyes.

Step 8: After curling your lashes, apply a coat of black mascara (I recommend the Diorshow Mascara in Black).

Step 9: Gently spray your face with setting spray so your look lasts all day! (I love the Morphe Prep and Set Continuous Setting Mist).
