Bronzy Brown

I have always loved makeup. It’s a way to express myself and my creativity instead of a way to cover up my insecurities. When it comes to makeup, THE EYES HAVE IT. Whether they’re dramatic or muted, they are the first thing that people notice. My weekends always consist of spending time with friends and one of our favorite past times includes applying makeup. Here are some tips to achieve the perfect look.

I love using neutral browns with hints of gold and bronze to create a smokey eye. It looks good on everyone! For this look, I used The Master Palette by Mario from Anastasia Beverly Hills on my eyes, The Anastasia Brow Wiz in the shade “soft brown” to fill in my brows and then applied the Diorshow Mascara in the color black to emphasize my eyelashes.

Step 1: Fill in your eyebrow with a neutral brown color or brow pencil using soft hairlike strokes to mimic real brow hairs.

Step 2: Use a small amount of concealer or a light eyeshadow primer and tap it lightly onto your eyelid until it is blended evenly all over. For the concealer I love the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer and for a great eyeshadow primer I love the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Original.

Step 3: Using a large buffing brush (something similar to the Morphe M441 blending brush) lightly dust the shade “Lula,” in the bottom left corner of the palette, into your crease to lay down a nice transition color for the following colors.

Step 4: Next, take the color “Violeta,” in the middle of the bottom row in the palette, on a smaller blending brush with a rounder top (I love the Morphe M332 Fluffy Crease Brush) and begin to tap your brush on the outer corner of your eye to avoid patchiness and fallout from the eyeshadow. Once you have laid down the color on the outer corner, you can gently start to blend out the color using small and soft windshield wiper motions, using a lighter hand as you get closer to your eyebrow to create a subtle fade from your lash line up.

Step 5: Then, dip a flat paddle brush (similar to the Morphe E10) into the shade “Kim,” in the middle of the top row of the palette.

Step 6: Once the shade is on your brush, apply setting spray in order to exaggerate this shimmer on the eyes and create a “wet look” (I love the Mac Prep + Prime Fix+ Spray in Original for this step).

Step 7: Now place this color starting in the inner-corner of your eye using light tapping motions and slowly bring it towards the center of your eye and eventually close to the outer corner, but avoid the dark brown shade “Violeta” that we previously blended.

Step 8: Once that shade “Kim” is applied, take the color “5th Avenue” in the lower right side of the palette on your clean ring finger (because it is the lightest). Tap this color only on the center of your lid to draw attention to the center of your eyelid and create a 3D effect.

Step 9: After curling your lashes, apply a coat of black mascara (I recommend the Diorshow Mascara in Black).

Step 10: Lastly, take a makeup wipe and fold it. While looking straight ahead, angle the wipe starting at the outer corner of your eye upwards then wipe away all the excess shadow to create a sharp line and “cat eye” effect.

Step 11: Gently spray your face with setting spray so your look lasts all day! (I love the Morphe Prep and Set Continuous Setting Mist).
